Week of WEN Challenge Recap & WEN Hair Care Deluxe Kit Giveaway

FH wenWEN 3

I just finished my #weekofWEN challenge where I swapped my usual shampoo and conditioner hair routine for one simple step: the WEN Sweet Almond Mint cleansing conditioner and WOW I am loving my results! As I mentioned in my first post, I was super excited by the prospect of eliminating a product from my seemingly endless beauty regimen, but I never thought I would notice such a difference in my hair so quickly.

Since I spent the week washing my hair myself {rather than splurging on my weekly blowouts} I was terrified at the idea of blowdrying and styling my hair on my own… it usually takes FOREVER. But my hair was so manageable and looked incredibly shiny! Along with the cleansing conditioner, I also fell hard for their Texturizing Balm! It adds tons of volume without making your hair greasy {and I applied tons to the roots for some volume up top!}.

I got the opportunity to ask Chaz Dean, International Hair Expert and Creator of WEN, some haircare and styling questions, so I had to share his responses with my readers!! Here they are:

FH: What’s your best tip for creating volume?

Chaz Dean: On wet hair, apply the Volumizing Treatment Spray after cleansing and using the Anti-Frizz Styling Creme.  Spray at the roots for extra lift or 8-12 inches away from the head for extra body and volume.  Then, using the WEN Boar Bristle Brush, blow dry hair and style as desired.  The *WEN Boar Bristle Brush helps create body and volume while the hair is drying.  Once your hair is dry, using the Volumizing Root Lift for an extra boost.  Sprinkle a small amount into the palms of your hands and rub them together.  Then, gently massage the product into the roots of your hair for added lift.

FH: What’s your recommendation for making curls and waves that last?

Chaz Dean: I suggest using the Boar Bristle Brush when blow drying the hair to help create lasting curls and waves.  To help keep day-old hair looking great, spritz with the Replenishing Treatment Mist to give hair some hydration and moisture.  Then, refresh the curls with your brush and blow dryer to help lock in the style.

FH: With temperature changes to fall, are there any specific changes you should adjust from your normal routine?

Chaz Dean: It’s always great to give your hair an extra boost of hydration as the weather gets cooler.  I would stick to your normal routine but add in a weekly intensive hair treatment to put some moisture back into your locks.  I suggest the Re Moist Intensive Hair Treatment because it’s formulated with botanical extracts to help nourish and condition the hair while adding shine and softness.

Thanks Chaz!!
