Chambray & Bubbles

We are starting to settle in to our new home and I have to say the kids are just LOVING having a backyard. Every afternoon we swing open the backdoor to run around in the sunshine, playing games of hide and seek, searching for treasures {ie. acorns}, and most recently, blowing bubbles. I always said we wanted to move so our kids could grow up in a house with a yard like my husband and I did, but it wasn’t until we got here and started playing out back that I realized just how lucky we are to have the space. Today’s shoot is basically a glimpse into an average summer afternoon at our house… the pure joy that children have when playing with bubbles never ceases to amaze me.

Our go-to summer attire for Reese has been a sweet top with little shorts paired to canvas slip-ons {the only shoes Reese will wear because she can put them on herself… we are in the “Mommy I want todo it allllll by myself” phase!}. With all of the craziness from our move I have been doing all of our shopping on OldNavy.com so I get these cute pieces right to our new doorstep. Today’s Old Navy top is perfect for the new Southern Belle… a flutter sleeve chambray blouse with embroidered flowers on the trim and white cuffed denim shorts.

The flower bubble blower was a find in the dollar section of Target {I am regretting not buying more!} while her miniature adirondack chair is from Pottery Barn Kids. I hope that you all are taking some time to get your kids outside, and if you need an activity, never underestimate the power of bubbles to get the kids excited about getting out! These smiles say it all!
